Brake Caliper Replacement
A seized caliper drags, overheats and wears one side of the car's brakes out early. It also makes the car pull under braking.
Brakes binding or pulling?
Symptoms of caliper problems
- The car pulling to one side when braking
- One wheel noticeably hotter than the others
- Burning smell after a drive
- Uneven pad wear between inner and outer pads
- Reduced fuel economy and a car that feels like it is holding back
- Electronic parking brake faults on rear calipers
What we do
- Confirm which caliper is at fault and why
- Replace or overhaul the caliper, sliders and carrier hardware
- Fit new pads and, where required, discs affected by heat
- Renew flexible hoses if collapsed or restricted
- Bleed the system, check fluid condition and road test
Electronic parking brakes
Rear calipers with electronic parking brake motors need to be retracted and reset with diagnostic equipment. We have the tools to do that properly rather than forcing the mechanism.
