DPF & Diesel
Injector Diagnostics & Injector-Related Repairs
Injector faults imitate a lot of other problems. Testing the injector data before replacing anything avoids fitting expensive parts the engine did not need.
Rough running or smoking?
Symptoms associated with injector faults
- Diesel knock or a distinct ticking from one cylinder
- Misfire, rough idle or vibration
- Poor starting, particularly when hot
- Black, white or blue smoke
- Loss of power and increased fuel consumption
- Fuel smell or leaks around the injector
- Repeated DPF loading caused by poor combustion
What we check
- Injector correction and balance values in live data
- Fuel rail pressure and regulation
- Leak-off and return testing where applicable
- Cylinder contribution and compression
- Wiring, connectors and driver circuits
Repair work
Depending on the diagnosis this can mean injector removal and replacement, seal and washer renewal, correcting a fuel supply fault or addressing seized injectors. Where an injector has been in place a long time, removal can be involved — we will tell you that up front rather than after the event.
