Thermostat Replacement

A thermostat stuck open leaves the engine cold and thirsty. Stuck closed, it overheats. Both are worth fixing quickly.

Heater blowing cold?

Symptoms

  • Temperature gauge staying low or taking a long time to rise
  • Heater blowing cool air
  • Engine management light with coolant temperature codes
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Overheating when the thermostat sticks closed
  • Coolant leak from the thermostat housing

What we do

  • Read coolant temperature live data and warm-up behaviour
  • Test thermostat operation and, where fitted, the map-controlled heater
  • Replace thermostat or complete housing with new seals
  • Refill with correct coolant and bleed the system
  • Confirm warm-up and operating temperature on road test
