Coil Spring Replacement

Broken springs are common on UK roads, and a snapped coil can cut into a tyre. It is not a job to leave.

Car sitting low?

Signs of a broken or tired spring

  • The car sitting lower on one corner
  • A knock or clonk over bumps from one wheel
  • Visible break, usually near the bottom coil
  • Uneven ride height front to rear
  • Tyre damage or rubbing in the arch

What we do

  • Confirm the failure and inspect the matching side
  • Replace springs with the correct rating for your vehicle
  • Renew bump stops, spring seats and top mounts where worn
  • Check shock condition while the strut is apart
  • Road test and check ride height

Springs and safety

Coil springs are under considerable tension. Removing and refitting them requires the right compressors and technique — this is not a job to attempt at the roadside.
